King Faisal on Sunday afternoon secured a crucial victory to stay top of the Ghana Premier League table.

The Kumasi-based club today hosted the matchday 7 opponent of the ongoing 2021/2022 campaign at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

At the end of the closely contested encounter, the hosts continued their outstanding form in the division as an equalizer from striker Ibrahim Osman powered the side to a vital 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

With another three points in the bag today, King Faisal have reclaimed the top spot of the Ghana Premier League table from Aduana Stars.

Meanwhile, today’s opponent, Elmina Sharks have dropped to 13th on the league table and just two points away from the relegation zone.

Sharks have struggled to compete this season and must in the next few games labour to win games or risk battling early relegation.

Next weekend, the team from Elmina will face Hearts of Oak in what will be a matchday 8 encounter of the Ghana Premier League season.
