Tema,– The Susana Wesley Mission Auxiliary (SWUMA), Tema Diocese, Methodist Church of Ghana, has donated some items to Yaw Owusu Ansah (YOA) Disability Foundation in Dansoman, Accra to help support children living with cerebral palsy.
Some of the items donated are hand sanitizers, liquid soap, bottled water, bags of pure water, toiletries, tissue paper, milo, tin tomatoes, clothing, biscuits, soft drinks and face masks.
The items were to meet the needs of children living with cerebral palsy across the country.
Mrs Martha Obuboafo, the president of SWUMA, Tema Diocese, who presented the items on behalf of the mission, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) “it is the responsibility of every church to show compassion and mercy to the venerable, poor, widow and needy in our communities.
“One of the major missions of SWUMA is to go to homes, prisons, mental hospitals and villages to share the little possession like clothing and food stuffs with them.”
She said, “cerebral palsy is not contagious, we need to get closer to them and assist them in any way we can.”
Mrs Dufie Nyarko, receiving the items on behalf of the YOA Foundation and the founder, Bishop Yaw Owusu Ansah, expressed appreciation to the SWUMA team for the support.
“We are very grateful that these items came at the right time and we will like to encourage other organizations and individuals to emulate SWUMA and come and give to assist us to construct our broken fence wall,” she said.
