Nana Ama Ampomaa calls for truce between Francois and Kwakwa supporters

The Ashanti Regional Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ama Ampomaa has described as disturbing, the intention of the Regional Youth Organizer, Dennis Kwakwa to contest the Regional Organizer, Dr. Francis Adomka who is seeking to be maintained.

She said in as much as both men are hard working and have contributed their quota to the party in the region, it would be beneficial for the party in general, and the region if one of them would rescind his decision.

“I must admit that each of these two personalities are well qualified to hold the mantle, nonetheless, I’m imploring on them to sit and re-examine their stance in order to make way for peace in the region.

“Because ever since it emerged that these two people are warming up for this tense contest, supporters of both camps have been on each other’s throat on social media. This is a very worrying development, and if not checked, would create further problems for a lot other people in the region,” she stated.

The Regional Women Organizer made these known in a statement released on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Since news broke of the intentions of Dennis Kwakwa to contest Dr. Adomako for the position, supporters of both personalities have been trading insults on social media, causing much tension in the party.

While many have criticized Kwakwa for being disrespectful and greedy, others also criticized Dr. Adomako as a man who doesn’t know anything about party organization but only appears when the work is done to “come and shout chooboi.”

Even though every party member commended Dr. Adomako who is affectionately called Francois for being the most visible and hardest working executive in the region since 2018, Kwakwa’s team thinks differently.

But Nana Ama Ampomaa in her statement pleaded with supporters of both factions to cease fire while she hold talks with both of them for one to rescind his decision and support the other for the sake of peace in the party.

“I will be meeting with both factions to ensure that one of them bows out of the race, and throw support behind the other. I will therefore, with all humility plead with the supporters of both factions to cease fire,” she stated.

The full statement is published below:

There’s this disturbing and worrying issue going on in the region, and as the mother of the party in the region, I’ve decided to intervene in order to resolve it amicably. Let me go straight to the point. It’s come to my attention that my good brother and confidant, Dennis Kwakwa, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, is lacing his boots to contest another good brother of mine, Francis Adomako (Francios), the current Regional Organizer. I must admit that each of these two personalities are well qualified to hold the mantle, nonetheless, I ’m imploring on them to sit and re-examine their stance in order to make way for peace in the region. Because ever since it emerged that these two people are warming up for this tense contest, supporters of both camps have been on each other’s throat on social media. This is a very worrying development, and if not checked, would create further problems for a lot other people in the region. We don’t need this intense and fierce rivalry between two of the most hardworking and influential political activists in the region, at the time that we’re supposed to start reorganising the party ahead of the 2024 elections. These are two people that I’ve worked with, and still work with, and can vouch for their commitment and dedication to the interest of the party. I promise to take the necessary steps in intervening in this disturbing matter. I will be meeting with both factions to ensure that one of them bows out of the race, and throw support behind the other. I will therefore, with all humility plead with the supporters of both factions to cease fire.

Thank you
