‘Friends of Bawumia’ inaugurate Regional Executives in Bolgatanga

Bolgatanga,- The Upper East Regional Executives of ‘Friends of Bawumia’ (FoB), a philanthropic group which propagates the works of the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been inaugurated in Bolgatanga.

The newly inaugurated Executives are; Mr George Yaw Akanlo, the Regional Chairman, Mr Henry Adivila, First Vice Chairman, Mr Karim Abdulai Issahaque Regional Coordinator and Mr Awudu Alhassan, Bolgatanga Central Coordinator.

The rest are Mr Hamid Abdul-Wahab Adam, Secretary, Mr Dennis Anaba, Treasurer, Mr Kwame Bonya, Research Officer, Mr Paul Yin Communications Officer, and Madam Azumah Anaba, Women’s Organizer.

At a brief ceremony to inaugurate the Executives, Mr Winifred Kofi Gidiglo, the National Chairman of FoB, said the group was started in 2012, and had since engaged in some philanthropic works and rallied massive support for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia over the years.

He said the Upper East Region was one of the active Regions that took interest in activities of the group, and urged the newly inaugurated Executives to continue to engage in philanthropic works.

Mr Gidiglo emphasized the need for them to endeavour to project the works of the Vice President over the years including; his love and support for the poor across the country.

He entreated the Executives of FoB in the Region to accord the Regional and Constituency Executives of NPP the needed respect, and work closely with them to whip up support for the Party.

According to the National Chairman, Dr Bawumia had not sponsored their work as a registered group, but the members appreciated his works and were determined to continue their support for him out of love and admiration.

In his address, Mr Akanlo thanked the National leadership of FoB for their visit to the Region to inaugurate them into office, to lead the course of the group in the Region.

He said the NPP’s quest to break the eight-year rule of political parties in Ghana could not materialise without the Vice President as Flagbearer. “We can’t break the eight-year rule as a Party without Dr Bawumia,” he insisted.

Mr Akanlo said the group may face challenges in its quest to support Dr Bawumia to lead the Party to victory, and appealed to the National Executives to continue to work hard and keep the “Fight on as you have been doing for our course.”

The Regional Chairman called on Executives and members of FoB to be patient. “Patience is the key word and that one day, our time will come.”

Some of the National Executives who graced the occasion were Mr Abdul Nayar Issahaque, First Vice Chairman and Reverend Opoku Acheampong, the National Coordinator.
