376 gets COVID-19 jab, second phase yet to begin

Adaklu Tsriefe (V/R),– A total of three hundred and seventy-six people have got the first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region.

The District is yet to begin its second phase of COVID-19 vaccination.

The figure included 103 health workers and 27 census officials.

Mr Charles Azagba, Adaklu District Health Director of Health disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Tuesday.

He said the district had 32 confirmed COVID-19 cases out of which one person died and 20 recovered.

Mr. Azagba noted that the district’s active cases currently stood at 11.

He described the notion that the vaccine caused impotence and barrenness as a myth and not factual.

The Director reminded the people not to be complacent but guard against the COVID-19 virus and continue to observe all the safety protocols.

“I am appealing to all assembly members, health workers, opinion and religious leaders to continue with the education on the disease for them.”
