Hohoe (V/R),- Mr Charles Torkornoo, Head of Administration, Hohoe Municipal Hospital, has revealed that the Hospital was well-positioned to provide services that as a Regional Hospital in health service delivery.

He said more than 15 health officers had been posted to the facility to begin their “house job” in line with the upgrade of the facility adding that more doctors and specialists would be posted to the Hospital.

“Trafalgar now has been upgraded into a Teaching Hospital so the Minister of Health has designated this Hospital (Hohoe Municipal Hospital) as the new Volta Regional Hospital” and upgrading works are still ongoing.

Mr Torkornoo speaking to the media during a presentation of medical and hospital consumables by the Revival Assemblies of God Church in Hohoe to the Hospital appealed to the government to speed up with the upgrading to enable citizens to appreciate what they started.

He said some infrastructural needs were promised with plans to put up some important facilities such as an Accident and Emergency Centre as part of the upgrading programme.

Mr Torkornoo said they hoped the programme would be done soon so they would enjoy the status of a Regional Hospital while expressing gratitude to the health minister for the “bold decision”.
