A beautiful view and hidden paradise! That was the thought that ran through my mind when I drove into the quiet compound of the Premier Beach Resort, located at Oshiyie, Kokrobite after about a forty–five–minute drive from the central business district of Accra.
Prior to commencing my journey, I had braced myself for anything as I was not sure what to expect on my very first trip to the Ga South Municipality and a place often described as a quiet fishing village along the Atlantic Coast.
However, I was pleasantly met with such an unexpected jewel; a great infrastructure overlooking the ocean, warm reception from the friendly staff, a beautiful view of the beach, and a neat resort and its surrounding area.
After being offered a welcome cocktail, I was ushered to my room, very clean and in fact made up each time I went out for a long beach walk during my stay. The atmosphere is unusual, fabulously unconventional with comfort and security for guests made a priority by the management of the facility.
Without a doubt, the location of the Premier Beach Resort can best be described as a dream, very surreal, natural, and an ultra-quiet destination. It is exceptionally peaceful and free from disturbances.
The structure and amenities are in good condition and well-kept, an indication of a good maintenance culture by the operators of the resort. The food is forever good, fresh, and served by a compact team of friendly and helpful staff.
As often said, the best beaches are the ones you have virtually all to yourself and that is what the Premier Beach Resort presents, as it is relatively free of crowds. Another highlight for me was experiencing the beautiful sunsets, very spectacular.
My curiosity to know more about the resort led me to have a conversation with the management of the facility, the General Manager, David Donald Otchere, an experienced hospitality management specialist with almost two decades of experience, and Patrick Ofori, the Office Manager.
Established in December 2018 by the Q Family, the Premier Beach Resort has a fundamental objective to serve as a resort of choice for rest and relaxation offering clients excellent services as its trademark. The comfort of clients whilst staying at the resort and having a memorable experience remains the topmost priority of management.
On the unique location of the resort, Mr. Otchere said “we are surrounded by the blue ocean, distinctive with its beach and serene environment. The Premier Beach Resort is a barefoot paradise with a white sand beach and amazing view you cannot resist. With the quality of service delivery and the wonderful experience, we effortlessly make our clients feel at home in a uniquely refreshing environment”.
Until December 2019, the facility operated as a day beach club. After a massive expansion and facelift of the property, which saw the introduction of additional services, it metamorphosed into a resort.
Highlighting the competitive advantage and uniqueness of the Premier Beach Resort, the General Manager stated that “we provide tailor-made services to meet the needs and expectations of our cherished guests. We have professionally trained and friendly staff as well as effective management committed to ensuring there is an enabling environment for staff to function efficiently whilst not compromising on creating a great experience for clients”.
Currently, the Premier Beach Resort has twenty-one air-conditioned rooms, a combination of premier and standard rooms as well as two VIP lounges. There is a twenty – four hour operational Blue Sea Restaurant and Bar in addition to a Special Grill, Chill Flame. The resort has a spacious parking lot that can host over a hundred people for an outdoor event.
Mr. Ofori added that “we have internet available for guests at all times and you can enjoy 4G speed at your comfort to keep in touch with family and friends as you have a great time at the resort. We also have airport pickup services and encourage guests to let us know if they require a pickup and any other transportation needs”.
Christmas is just around the corner and the Premier Beach Resort will not be left out of the fun and excitement throughout the yuletide and New Year celebrations. According to the General Manager, they have officially announced their packages and activations for individuals and corporate bodies looking forward to providing their staff with a thrilling experience.
“There will be no other place better for the family and work colleagues of the Atlantic Ocean of Oshieye, Kokrobite apart from the Premier Beach Resort. We have amazing packages including accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at unbeatable prices. We have the dinner and cocktail party packages for between fifty and two hundred and fifty people which is sponsored by Coca Cola”, he added.
I am an advocate of hard work, which equals success, and success is not for the lazy. However, it is important to take some time for ourselves to have the needed balance. Gracefully, I found a place to achieve that, the Premier Beach Resort, a place I have decided to call a paradise on earth!
