Tema,- Hairdressers in the Tema Metropolis have stocked their salons and shops with hair and beauty products in anticipation of bumper business this season.

Ms Nora Frimpomaa owner of Nora Beauty Salon near Tema Metro told the Ghana News Agency that as part of efforts to cash in on the season the shop has rolled-out discounts on their products, services, and braids for ladies at affordable prices.

Some of the discounted products included: Human hair wig caps, Brazilian hair wig caps, wet curls, short hairs, and blunt cuts; each hair is discounted according to the grade, type, and length of the hair.

Ms Frimpomaa said that ‘a 22 inches grade 10a skin closure wet curls wig cap have been reduced from GHC340.00 to GHC240.00, and a 14 inches grade 9a machine closure bouncy curls wig cap reduced from GHC300.00 to GHC250.00.

‘Braiding of corn roll and knotless braids reduced from GHC120.00 to GHC80.00.

“A customer who purchases more than three wig caps would be given an additional Christmas hamper to boost the discount sales,” she added.

Mrs Lydia Donkor at the Anointed Hand Salon also at Tema told the GNA that sales have been slow but was optimistic that it would pick up.

Mrs Donkor said, products and materials used in the salons have become expensive that is also causing low sales as customers cannot afford them.

Ms Jackline Abena Ninsin the Chief Executive officer of Exotic Tresses Hairs attributed the low sales to high prices of wigs.

Given the general challenges, Exotic Tresses Hairs is running a 50 per cent discount on all hair products as a Christmas bonanza.

Ms Ninsin said the Exotic Tresses Hairs Christmas bonanza serves as appreciation to customers.

Ms Elizabeth Boateng, a hairstylist, told the GNA that a woman’s hair is the most important aspect of her appearance, the first thing one looks at is the head when approaching or speaking to a person, that’s why women pay particular attention to their hair.

She said a nice hairdo makes ladies feel more comfortable, adds to one’s beautiful architecture, and makes her take charge of the environment, hence the need for ladies to change their hairstyles this season.
