The sole authorized distributor of Peugeot in Ghana, Silver Star Auto, has unveiled the ‘Lion’s Pride’, the latest Peugeot Landtrek pick-up, with Joseph Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, a former Member of Parliament for Tema East and a former Deputy Minister of Transport, being the first Ghanaian to purchase the vehicle.
“I feel very special”, Titus Glover expressed. “We tried the first brand, we work in the mines and so far, so good. And I think this is going to give us more luxury. 25 years of my life, I’ve been driving Peugeot and they are efficient.”
The new Peugeot Landtrek 4×4 has 1.9L (150HP) Engine, 4×4 – Hill Descent Control – Radio, MP3, Bluetooth, USB with 4 speakers – Heavy Duty Eliptic Leaf Spring rear Suspension.
The double cabin 4×4 pick-up joins other recent Peugeot releases for the global and particularly the African market, including Peugeot 3008 and 508.
At a colorful ceremony held at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on Monday, September 20, 2021, to launch the vehicle unto the Ghanaian market, Mr. Asad Nazir, CEO of Silver Star Auto, touted the features of the new Landtrek, describing it as beautiful and versatile.
“The Landtrek pick-up builds on a strong legacy. The Landtrek is a new chapter, it’s a new adventure, it’s exciting, it’s comfortable, and technologically advanced. It’s powerful, yet efficient and economical. It encourages us all to live bigger”, he said.
“Our clients who are not only confident but also ambitious, demand advanced safety features, are mindful of the environment and yet cost-conscious, will find the Peugeot Landtrek pick-up a very attractive proposition”, Mr. Nazir added.
He emphasized that the organization has invested not only in vehicles but all the after-sales facilities and infrastructure that goes with selling the vehicles.
“We have genuine spare parts; we’ve done technical training to be of full service to you. All these investments position Silver Star to confidently offer total support that our clients require and expect”, said Mr. Nazir.
Michael Okyere Baafi, a Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, speaking at the event commended Silver Star for its achievements and expressed optimism that the latest vehicle “will act as competition for other pick-up truck brands in the Ghanaian market and would aid in the renewal of the country’s fleet of pick-up trucks.”
The audience was thrilled with a musical performance from the music group Kwanpa. The icing on the cake was a surprise and soothing performance from Sales and Brand Manager of Silver Star Auto, Delali Greenstock which preceded the unveiling.
Rapper, Sarkodie, who was described as a friend of the brand, graced the occasion.
