RMG Ghana donates to MoFA towards upcoming National Farmers’ Day celebration

Accra,– RMG Ghana Limited has donated items and cash worth GHc65,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), towards this year’s 37th Farmers’ Day celebration dubbed: “Planting for Food and Jobs – Consolidating Food Systems in Ghana.

The donation was in the form of inputs such as crop protection products, seeds, spraying machines to the tune of GHc50,000 and a cheque for GHc15,000 to support the Ministry to appreciate and motivate the hardworking farmers.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of RMG Ghana, Ivan Dorier who presented the items and the cheque said the company was committed to the agricultural industry to make Ghana a food-sufficient nation.

He said: “We believe the most appropriate way to ensure food security for a growing population like Ghana and to ensure wealth creation for farmers is to improve their productivity, through making available to them, the most advanced technology for irrigation, quality crop protection products, fertilizer and seeds for agriculture production.”

Mr Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture who received the items and the cheque expressed gratitude to the company for its unwavering support over the years in enhancing the agricultural sector.

The RMG Ghana Limited is one of the country’s leading agricultural companies in Ghana instituted in 2016 following the acquisition of Wienco Ghana Limited by RMG Concept Limited and has grown to create a niche in the Ghanaian market through the provision of innovative timely solutions to Ghana’s agricultural problems.

The company is currently working with about 15,000 farmers across the country where they provide farm suppliers and expertise training on farming.
