Tamale, Feb 13, GNA – Some Police personnel were engaged in sporadic shooting on Sunday afternoon at Lamashegu, a suburb of Tamale, ostensibly to ward off angry residents.
The residents became angry after a Police officer shot at a man at the Lamashegu Chief’s palace and the stray bullets also injured other people around the area.
The GNA gathered that some Police officers stopped the man at GRIDCo area in Tamale for driving a car (Toyota Camry) with a DV number plate but he drove away to the palace.
They chased him to the palace and shot at him.
About two people, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.
