Techiman (BE/R), – The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Moses Asagba Atibilla, the Bono East Regional Police Commander, has lauded the security services in the region for their teamwork to ensure peace and security.
He said the excellent teamwork between the Police, Military, Immigration, Fire Service and the National Bureau Intelligence had enhanced the prevailing peace.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA)at Techiman, the regional capital, DCOP Atibilla said: “It is our duty to protect lives and property as well as provide a safer community for peaceful cohabitation, which the security services have demonstrated.”
Meanwhile, Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister and Chairman of the Bono Regional Security Council (REGSEC), has commended the security services and the public for ensuring incident-free Christmas and New Year festivities.
He gave the assurance that the REGSEC would continue to provide the support and logistics to the security services to protect lives and property.
Mr Adu-Gyan told the GNA that peace and security remained a pre-requisite for development, hence the need to empower and motivate security operatives to work harder to strengthen the peace of the region.
He advised the public to be law-abiding and guard against behaviours that could disturb the peace to ensure development thrived.
