Pentecost commissions mechanised borehole for Akpo Community

Akpo (E/R),- The Church of Pentecost, Koforidua Area, has commissioned a mechanised borehole with two iron removal filters for the Akpo Community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Ghc38,844.00 water facility and a polytank would serve the people in and around the Akpo Community including Akpo Sra and Akpo Akuapem.

Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Koforidua Area Head of the Church, said the facility was constructed following an appeal by the former Huhunya District Pastor of the Church, concerning the water crisis the community faced.

He said in 2019 the Church realised that members were attending church service late due to the long distances they had to trek to fetch water for household chores.

The issue was, therefore, prioritised among the Vision 2023 of the Church, which had led to the construction of the borehole, he said, and that a six-member committee had been formed to ensure its judicious use.

Pastor Offei Badu, the Koforidua Area Coordinator of the Pentecost Social Services, a charity wing of the Church, recounted the challenges faced during the construction of the borehole, and called on the beneficiaries to maintain it.

The Community members thanked the Church for the project as it had lessened the burden they had encountered over a long period of time.
