Peace and unity a prerequisite for development – MCE

Gefia (VR), – Mr Martin Kofitsey Nyahe, the Akatsi South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has urged community members to allow peace and unity to prevail in all aspects of life.

He said that was the surest way development would also take its course.

Mr Nyahe made this call during an encounter with some community members and chiefs of the Gefia Electoral area as part of his tour to all the electoral areas under his jurisdiction.

The tour was aimed at interacting with the community members to have first-hand information on the challenges facing them.

Community members from Kpoyega, Gayikope, Akplorkope, Ayitikope, Biedokope, Agorkpove, Azasukope and others were at the session held at Gefia, a community within Akatsi South.

The meeting also saw some chiefs, elders and opinion leaders participating.

Torgbui Korbadzi III, the ‘Dufia’ of Gefia, in his welcome address, said his area needed a police post to maintain the reigning peace in the community.

Mr Jerry Etsey Agbo, the assembly member for the area, outlined some challenges facing the area.

He mentioned the extension of electricity to other adjoining communities, potable drinking water, reshaping of roads, the upgrading of the Gefia clinic, and others as some of the issues facing them.

Mr Nyahe, in his response, gave the assurance that the residents of his continuous effort in addressing their challenges.
