Accra, Dec.21, GNA- Little Angels Trust (LAT), an NGO, has donated assorted items to the Children’s Ward of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.
The items included children’s clothing, hand sanitizers, face masks, drinks, and lollipops, among others.
Mrs Lavinia Enim Amui, Founder of LAT, said the donation was part of the organization’s yearly activities to show love to children, especially those in the surgical and emergency wards during the Christmas festivities.
She said the gesture was part of the organization’s programme to create awareness about childhood cancer and the need to support children with such diseases.
The organization, she said since its inception, had supported Day-Care Centres and the Children’s Unit of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
She said the NGO had adopted and renovated the third floor of the Children’s Oncology Cancer Unit of Korle-Bu, where most of the children needed extra love, care and support.
She said her desire for helping children who were terminally ill and the need to provide them with an avenue to progress and have a positive future, compelled the organization to make the donation, urging other corporate institutions to support such children.
Dr Mame Yaa Nyarko, Medical Superintendent, Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra, commended the organization for the gesture and said the donation would give hope to the children.
