THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpando in the Volta Region, Della Sowah, has called for calm in the party so as to remain focus towards Election 2024.
She noted that the party needed to remain focused, resolute, and persevere to overcome such challenges and disagreements to forge ahead.
Speaking about developments in the party to Ghanaian Times, Madam Sowah urged all members and supporters to remain calm and united regardless of the quavering, challenges, and disagreements towards the 2024 elections.
“If we allow wrangling, divisive tendencies, and infighting to overcome us, our teeming
supporters and members will become disillusioned towards 2024, which will have an adverse effect on the party because Ghanaians need the NDC to rescue the
country from shady deals and bad governance. To enable us to execute the rescue mission, there is the need for the leadership and rank and file to remove bottlenecks within the party for our sympathisers, well-wishers, and faithful to have confidence in the leadership towards a better future for the citizenry and the NDC,” Madam Sowah cautioned.
She appealed to aggrieved parties to put behind them such negative tendencies that would derail the forward march of the party towards 2024 and look at the bigger picture, saying “my brothers and sisters in the NDC, I plead with all aggrieved individuals to be calm and consider the bigger prize.
“I strongly believe that no matter what we are going through, the party will triumph at the end. I am optimistic that the party will overcome all the challenges and problems we are going through and bounce back stronger,” Madam Sowah assured.
Some members of the NDC and the public expressed disappointment with the approval of some ministerial nominees, who, in their view, were unfit for the job.
