Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu reveals plan to develop an academy in the Northern Region

Astute Ghanaian politician, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that he wants to develop an academy in the Northern Region in the future.

The NDC Politician who is the Member of Parliament for Tamale South has not forgotten his roots but is already giving back to the region with a lot of investments.

Owning lower-tier side Steadfast FC, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu over the years has invested in the club and continues to pump in money to contribute to talent development.

Continuing to help young players achieve their dream, the respected politician is aiming at developing an academy to reach a lot of young players.

Speaking in an interview with Joy Sports, the Tamale South MP has opened up on plans to collaborate with international and local players to develop the new academy.

“It has even now become an exportable product or service. It has even now become an exportable product or service. Eventually, I’ll develop a football academy in partnership with some international and local players,” Hon. Haruna Iddrisu said.

The Minority leader in Parliament “It [investing in football] is distressing financially when you look at the amounts you pump into it. There are no immediate returns. You’ll hardly get anything in return for 4/5 years.”

In the foregoing, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu wants a legislation to be passed that will target using corporate social responsibility to fund sports.
