Kwahu Aduamoa community lagging in development—Chief

Kwahu Aduamoa (E/R),— Nana Ahia Tutu Brempong II, the Chief of Kwahu Aduamoa has called on the Kwahu East District Assembly and Member of Parliament Mr Bryan Acheampong to ensure development projects are extended to Aduamoa.

He said the community was lagging in development as it lacks potable water, a good road network and other social amenities and necessities.

The Chief who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Aduamoa said the inhabitants of the Aduamoa community deserved to be served with amenities to make their lives comfortable.

He was not happy Aduamoa was exempted from benefitting from the construction of town roads and boreholes and pleaded that local authorities and duty-bearers ensure equity in development.

For some time now, he said members of the community have been financing the maintenance of their health centre and public schools and therefore called for the central government’s support.

He applauded frequent donations and contributions by community members, philanthropists and Non-Governmental Organizations which had helped to keep the community moving.

On its abandoned market centre project, Nana Brempong II said the traditional authorities had contacted the Kwahu East District Assembly and that plans were underway to revive it for operations.

He said the market stalls would be given to traders for free to encourage others to occupy the place.

Nana Brempong II also called on natives of Aduamoa and philanthropists to support the operations of the only ICT centre in the community to assist school children to have practical teaching and learning of ICT.
