Saki (Near Tema), – Personnel from the Kpone District Police Command of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) have met with Mobile Money operators in the Nmlitsakpo Electoral Area in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality over security issues.
The meeting was under the directives of the District Police Commander Superintendent Seth Tay.
Chief Inspector Regina Ama Arthur at the Golf City Police Station told the Mobile Money Operatives that the Police were always ready to assist and provide them with professional security in their business.
The Chief Inspector said MOMO operators must take security very seriously, saying mobile money operatives had become a major target for criminals in the country.
She asked mobile money operators not to keep huge sums of money on them and to call the police to report any suspicious characters around their businesses.
Corporal Samuel Agbemehia of the Golf City Police station said the District Police command had picked up intelligence about attacks in some communities in the municipality.
He advised the mobile money vendors to settle for safer shops for their businesses, saying the criminals would only take advantage of porous security situations to launch an attack.
Mobile Money Operators from Bediako, Community 25, Kpone Barrier, Golf-City, and Saki attended the security sensitization.
