It’s good King Faisal are not begging for points, says Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah

Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has taken a slight at city rivals, King Faisal following their impressive start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The Insha Allah lads struggled throughout last season and needed a point on the final day of the 2020/21 of the GPL against Liberty Professionals at Sogakope before they could avoid relegation.

However, Faisal have been in good form this season and have even defeated Kotoko twice – both in the Premier League and FA Cup – and currently sit second on the league log.

And according to Nana Yaw Amponsah, the performance of King Faisal this season is something he admires that promote fairness in the game.

“I always want to see clubs from Asanteman progressing so I’m elated for King Faisal’s progress this season,” Amponsah said as reported by ashesgyamera.com.

“Instead of begging for points, they (King Faisal) are now fighting for their points and I’m happy with that. This brings fairness in the game,” he added.

Asante Kotoko host Ashgold in the matchday 12 games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium while King Faisal travel to play Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.
