Hearts of Oak to appoint Ibrahim Tanko as new head coach – Reports

The supporters of Hearts of Oak are pushing for the appointment of former Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko as their head coach for the rest of 2020/2021 season.

The club is currently in search of a new head coach following the resignation of Kosta Papic on Monday.

He accused the board of interference.
Papic was reappointed as a replacement for coach Edward Nii Odoom who was demoted to the youth team.

Multiple reports suggest that the hierarchy of the club have begun negotiations with the former Cameroon assistant coach to take over the club.

Papic guided the Rainbow club in 10 matches in the Ghanaian premiership where he won four, drew three and lost three.

The former Black Stars talisman, Tanko previously served as an assistant coach for German side FC Cologne.

Meanwhile, U-15 coach, Samuel Nii Noi has been named as the interim manager.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Joseph Asare Bediako, team manager, Sabahn Quaye, goalkeeper’s trainer, Ben Owu and bus driver have all resigned from the club.
