Hearts of Oak receive major squad boost as two top players resume training

Struggling Hearts of Oak have been given a major squad boost following the return to training by attackers Gladson Awako and Kwadjo Obeng Jnr.

The Phobians after playing four matches in the Ghana Premier League in the 2021/22 season find themselves battling early relegation.

The defending league champions are on three points having drawn the first three matches while losing the last encounter against Ashanti Gold SC.

With rivals, Asante Kotoko already opening a gap at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table, Hearts of Oak urgently need to recover and start winning matches.

Fortunately for the club, former Great Olympics poster boy Gladson Awako who was signed in the off-season has returned to training.

In addition, Kwadjo Obeng Jnr who has also been injured for months has joined his teammates for training.

The two players have enormous quality and are expected to provide a boost for the Phobians not only in the Ghana Premier League but in the CAF Confederations Cup.

This weekend, Hearts of Oak will host JS Saoura in the CAF Confederations Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Although it is unlikely Kwadjo Obeng Jnr will be ready to feature for the Phobians, the possibility that Gladson Awako could make his competitive debut is high.
