Health directorate educate stakeholders on vaccine hesitancy

Kpone (Near Tema)- The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Health Directorate has educated stakeholders on vaccine hesitancy as the vaccination exercise against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic progresses within the municipality.

The Stakeholder engagement was to equip the participant with the needed information to sensitize the residents on the need to take their jabs to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Mrs Gifty Akomanyi, Kpone-Katamanso Health Promotion Officer, said residents needed to be adequately informed on the need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

She said misconceptions were surrounding the various vaccines to be administered against the COVID-19 outbreak.

Mrs Akomanyi explained that the COVID-19 Community Trained Ambassadors had a responsibility to break the various myths surrounding the vaccination so the residents would accept the vaccines.

The Municipal Health Promoter hinted that community-based education was needed to enhance the fight against the coronavirus.

She advised the participants and the residents to ignore negative information on social media against the vaccination exercise.

The vaccination with Modena is currently underway in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality.

The Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Health directorate has designated some vaccination centres for the exercise, including Kpone Polyclinic, Zenu Health Centre, Katamanso Health Centre, Apollonia Health Centre, and IMRS Michel Camp,

Others are New Crystal Hospital, Oyibi Health Centre, Valley View University Hospital, and Gbetsile Clinic all within the Kpone Katamanso Municipality
