GLICO General launches motor/homeowners club and Whatsapp business solution

GLICO General Insurance Company Limited, one of the leading non-life Insurers in Ghana, a subsidiary of GLICO Group has officially launched its motor club, homeowners club and WhatsApp business solution. This event was held on Friday, the 31st day of December, 2021 at the Swissport Branch at Ghana Airport Cargo Centre, Accra.

In the opening address, Mrs Angela Asante (Head of National Sales), on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Group CEO, Board Members, Senior Management and staff, welcomed all guests who were present. She added, “Today, one of the dreams we have been brewing is now ready to be out doored, and we are proud to share this moment with you.”

“The Motor & Homeowners clubs are targeted as a loyalty package for GLICO General’s prestige individual clients who purchase comprehensive Motor and Homeowners Insurance, respectively. The benefits of our clubs include free virtual medical consultation, discounted medical services including ambulance, delivery of prescribed medicines and medical laboratory services as well as branded souvenirs. ”

Adding to the benefits of the clubs, Mr Charles Graham-Mensah, Chief Business Development Officer for GLICO General explained that, members of the motor club also get subsidized roadside assistance and free vehicle diagnostics checks from GLICO General’s approved repairers and motor firms, while the Homeowners Club gives an exciting free limit of cover for contents and accident up to GHS 10,000.00.” “Benefits can be redeemed throughout the policy year without any limitations. In a brief address made by the Managing Director for GLICO General, Mr Andrew Achampong-Kyei, he mentioned how GLICO General had paid GHC30 Million in claims in 2021. He also added that we as a company are committed to supporting the national medical response in collaboration through with GLICO Healthcare.

He highlighted how technology has been hallmark of the company and expressed excitement about the launch of the online platforms, referencing the WhatsApp Business and web portal that give cherished customers the convenience of buying policies in a matter of clicks. At the event, Joseph Oscar Mettle popularly known as Joe Mettle, an award-winning gospel musician, was unveiled as the face of the Motor club as well as Nadia Buari, a celebrated movie actress, was also unveiled as the face of the Homeowners club. The unveiling was done by Mr. Edward Forkuo Kyei, CEO for GLICO Group.

In the remarks of the Special Guest of Honour, Mr Shaibu Ali (president elect, Insurance Brokers Association), he listed two key things that insurance companies need to do to be successful which were innovation and digitization for which he applauded GLICO General and assured the company of his support.

The event ended with photos, chews and cheers amidst the merriment of the festive season.
