Ghana Premier League record holders, Asante Kotoko will play as a guest to Legon Cities FC this weekend as the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league season continues.
Both teams go into the matchday 22 fixture winless from their last two matches and in need of the big three points for different reasons.
While Asante Kotoko are keen on winning to enhance their chances of winning the Ghana Premier League, Legon Cities FC also needs the victory to climb further away from the relegation zone.
As a result, this weekend’s fixtures have been set up nicely and expected to produce an exciting contest.
In the last meeting between the two teams in the first round of the Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko reigned supreme and won by a goal to nil.
Ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Legon Cities FC looks poised to exact revenge. While it will not be an easy task, the last two matches of the Reds have proven that coach Mariano Barreto’s team is very beatable.
Player to watch:
Jonah Attuquaye – The Legon Cities FC winger has consistently displayed an outstanding form for his team and will be expected to make things happen for the team against Asante Kotoko.
If he is afforded the freedom to operate, he could easily decide the match for the home team with a goal or assist.
Legon Cities FC 1-3 Asante Kotoko
