Karela United has returned to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings after recording a massive 2-0 win against Medeama SC on Sunday afternoon.
The two teams this afternoon locked horns at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park to renew their rivalry on matchday 11 of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
In the fierce contest that ensued between the team teams in the first half, neither side could score and went into the break on level pegging.
After recess, Karela United played with more purpose and energy as they chased the win to merit the maximum points.
Finally, in the 62nd minute, the home team breached the defense of Medeama SC with poster boy Diawisie Taylor finding the back of the net with a fine effort to give the side the lead.
Although Medeama SC will come in strong after going behind, Karela United scored a second in the 75th minute to seal a 2-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
In line with the result, the Anyinase-based club has climbed to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points from 11 matches.
