Ghana coach CK Akonnor excited by team’s performance in Morocco defeat

The head coach for the Ghana national team, CK Akonnor has indicated that he was excited by the team spirit seen in the game against Morocco although his outfit ended up on the losing side.

The Black Stars on Tuesday night locked horns with the Atlas Lions in an international friendly match in Rabat.

In what ensued as a tough contest between the two sides, Ghana lost by a lone goal at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking on the performance of players in a post-match interview, Coach CK Akonnor heaped praises on youngster Mohammed Kudus while stressing that collectively it was a good team performance.

“He [Mohammed Kudus] is a good player, fantastic. He can produce magic at every given time. Our Captain (Andre Ayew), and his brother (Jordan Ayew). We played with some team spirit and understanding and that is what excites me.

“I am very happy about the way we played; of course I am not happy that we lost so we need to look forward to how to improve in that area and that is my thinking now,” coach CK Akonnor said after the game.

Later this weekend, Ghana will take on Ivory Coast in a similar friendly match scheduled to be played at the Cape Coast Stadium.
