Accra, Jan. 4, GNA – The Black Stars of Ghana is scheduled to play Algeria in a friendly match on Wednesday, January 5, ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Education City stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The continental football competition will be held in Cameroon with 24 countries participating.

The friendly match is for the two African giants to test their strengths as they fine-tune preparations for the AFCON.

Algeria who won the FIFA Arab Cup a fortnight ago is housed in Group E with Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and Cote D’Ivoire.

The Black Stars Ghana would open its campaign against Morocco on Monday, January 10, 2022, before taking on Gabon and Comoros in Group C.
