Asante Kotoko secures two-year sponsorship worth GHc 1.3 million from Betika

Kumasi,- Asante Kotoko has secured another bumper partnership deal worth GHc1.3 million with Betika – a sports betting company in Ghana.

The fastest-growing sports betting company has signed a two-year partnership deal with the Porcupine warrior’s effective 11th November 2021 and would become the club’s official betting partner, until 2023.

The partnership is aimed at investing in the youth by nurturing talent through sports, arts, and culture.

Under the sponsorship, Asante Kotoko would be receiving about GHc630,000 per annum, and in-kind provision of balls, nets, and other sports equipment.

Through the sponsorship, Betika would seek to nurture and improve the club’s visibility and help scout for talent from other grassroots football activities across the country.

This was contained in a joint statement issued by Betika and Asante Kotoko on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Rupen Samani, Chief Executive Officer of Betika said, “Asante Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana, no doubt and for us, it is the third biggest club in Africa and we are happy to have created this partnership.

This partnership confirms our commitment to investing in the youth and in the country through sports, arts, and culture with football being a key focus.

We also believe that through the partnership we can influence positive change among the youth through creating an atmosphere of talent and skills development in sports and hope to maintain Asante Kotoko Club as the most successful club in the history of the premier league” he stated

Nana Yaw Amponsah, CEO of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club thanked Betika for coming on board at a crucial time.

“We are honored by this partnership and would like to welcome Betika to the porcupine family.

“We are certain that through our partnership we would be able to do a great deal in ensuring that both our organizations have the best visibility, and certainly look forward to a wonderful partnership,” he noted

Mr. Amponsah said the porcupine warriors believed that the partnership would go a long way towards not only easing the clubs’ financial obligations but also increasing the league’s monetary incentives to the players.
