Asante Kotoko has developed an interest in Bofoakwa Tano striker Takyi Welbeck and is reportedly set to make a move to sign the attacker to strengthen their squad.
The club since the start of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season has relied on striker Kwame Opoku.
Although other players have managed to score a few, he has contributed more of the team’s goals and is one of the best strikers in the league.
As reported by Modernghana Sports earlier today, Kwame Opoku is set to leave Asante Kotoko to sign for Algerian outfit USM Alger.
While the deal is expected to be completed by the close of the week, officials of the Porcupine Warriors club have decided to sign a replacement.
Reports picked up in the last few hours have revealed that Asante Kotoko has lineup a bid for Bofoakwa Tano striker Takyi Welbeck.
The young forward has impressed in the Division One League this season and is currently counted amongst the most dangerous goal scorers in the lower division.
It is understood that Kotoko has been impressed with his record [9 goals in 11 games] and wants to quickly wrap up his signing before the second transfer window closes.
