Algerian side ES Setif on Sunday afternoon came from behind to defeat Asante Kotoko 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Ghanaian giants hosted the team from North Africa for the first leg of the scheduled two-legged tie in the final playoff round to the group stage of this season’s CAF Confederations Cup.
On the back of a goalless draw in the first half, striker Kwame Opoku scored in the 69th minute to shoot Asante Kotoko into the lead.
Unable to hold on, ES Setif came in strong and scored two goals courtesy of strikes from Mohammed El Amine Amora and Ahmed Kendouci to win 2-1 at the end of the exciting contest.
