FC Sheriff midfielder, Edmund Addo has received a maiden call up to the Black Stars for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been named in Ghana’s 28-man squad for the final Group G games against Ethiopia and South Africa.
Addo could not show up for the last call ups due to a late invitation for the game against Zimbabwe last month.
The youngster has been impressive for the Moldovan club in the ongoing season.
After emerging as the first Moldovan club to play in the Champions League, Addo and his teammates went ahead to stun Real Madrid at their backyard, Santiago Bernabeu.
The Ghanaian played a crucial role and dominating the midfield for Sheriff.
He joins a midfield list that comprises Thomas Partey of Arsenal FC and the young midfielder will savour the opportunity to play with him in the national team setup.
Ghana will take on Ethiopia on Thursday, November 11 before facing South Africa on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Cape Coast stadium.
The Black are second in Group G with 9 points – one point behind leaders South Africa and must win both matches to make it to the next stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
