Accra,- The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development in collaboration with the Fisheries Commission has announced the 2021 Closed Season starting from July 1 to August 31.
The two entities implementing the closed season together announced that Artisanal and Inshorefleets would observe theirs from July 1st to 31st, while that of the Industrial fleets would be observed from July 1 until August 31st 2021.
A statement signed and issued by Mr Michael Arthur-Dadzie, Executive Director,
Fisheries Commission, has asked all fishing operators to therefore, berth their vessels at port/anchorage or at the various landing sites before mid-night of June 30.
“The Commission therefore requests your fullest support in ensuring compliance with the 2021 Closed Season,” the statement said.
