Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac is unsure when Mohammed Kudus will join the camp of the Black Stars for the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON].
Despite nursing an injury, the Serbian trainer named the Ajax midfielder in his final 28-man squad for the tournament in Cameroon.
However, Kudus joined his club teammates where they are having their winter break training ahead of the second round of the Dutch Eredivisie.
Ajax is believed to have allowed Kudus to travel to Cameroon for the ongoing tournament having assessed the 21-year-old following his return from injury as reported earlier.
Asked about the arrival of the midfielder ahead of Gabon clash, Rajevac said he is not sure about his arrival but expect to see him soon in Cameroon.
“We are not sure about Mohammed Kudus but we expect to see him soon, he is recovering and training so hopefully we see him soon,” he said at the pre-match conference on Thursday.
Kudus has not played since November when he suffered the rib injury in the crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa in November.
Ghana’s second group game against Gabon come on Friday at 19:00 GMT.
