Accra,- Organisers of the Humanitarian Awards Global have released the list of Top 100 Most Influential Social Impact Companies for the year 2021.
The annual survey of the top 100 Social Impact Companies seeks to recognise the remarkable exploits of businesses contributing immensely to the development of Ghana in diverse ways amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Wisdom Dordoe, Programmes Director, Humanitarian Awards Global, in a statement, said there was a need to laud the performances of some companies which made strides in their respective endeavour despite the devastating impact of COVID-19.
“Many companies during the peak of the pandemic were seen supporting the needy and the Government to help mitigate the impact of the virus as well as its medium-term socio-economic consequences.
“Social impact is fast becoming an integral part of the operations of corporate organisations in Ghana, so we aim to recognize their tremendous role in improving the lives of people.
“The purpose of this well researched list is to celebrate and recognise these prominent organisations and was inspired by the level of investment and commitments corporate bodies have attached to their social responsibilities and to support Ghana in the era of Covid-19.” the statement said.
The latest ranking features local & foreign companies based in Ghana selected from across key sectors of Ghana’s economy and also highlights their activities across health, education, agriculture, sanitation, women empowerment, media, among others.
Some companies that featured in the top 100 include GCB Bank, Fidelity Bank, ABSA Bank, EcoBank. Access Bank, Azar Chemical Industries, Anglogold Ashanti, Melcom Ghana, MTN Group Ghana, Nestle Ghana, Mcdan Group of Companies and Newmont Ghana.
Others include; Justmoh Construction Limited, Millennium Insurance Company, Interplast, Foodtech, Indomie Ghana and host of other companies.
